Who are Your Parents?

Why am I less adoptable than any other Great Dane at the Rescue? Why does no one even look at me? I did not pick my parents. Did you pick yours? I can’t help it if my parents aren’t of some fine lineage. Are yours? What makes me any less wonderful than the dogs with Champion bloodlines? Are your parents royalty?

Grandma at the Rescue told me not to worry. It is not my fault that I was born at a puppy mill and sold at a pet store!

My parents weren’t Champions but hey, I have more Champions in my background than many of the dogs in the world. I am just as healthy as the dogs with Champion parents and healthier than many others. "All that matters," she says, "is that I am the best I can be." And I am definitely that!

So what is your problem with me? Do you think you are better than I am? Why will you buy a puppy at a pet store but you are not interested in me? Why is that? Can you please tell me?
