Grandma said I can tell my story even though I will never be available for adoption!

I was found roaming the roads of Loveland and taken to the SPCA Cincinnati to serve my stray time. My owner finally came in but instead of wanting me back he just signed the release so that he would not have to pay any fines or be bothered with me any longer. When the shelters vet checked me out she had many concerns about my health and realized that a regular person would never adopt me. It was decided that they would call Harlequin Haven Great Dane Rescue, to my surprise within hours I was on my way to the rescue!!

Once I arrived at the rescue I was given a soft bed and lots of hugs and kisses. Grandma said that she would call and make me an appointment to see the Orthopedic Specialist immediately. The following week I got to go see Dr. Steven Schrader. Unfortunately the results are not good, I have Wobblers and both my rear knees are blown and are not operable because I was not operated on when they became injured. Here I am only 3 years old and my life is ruined thanks to my owner not having taken proper care of me! I was so sad and scared when I heard Dr. Schrader tell Grandma the news, but when he asked what was going to happen to me she told him that I would move to her home and live out my life in comfort! When we arrived back at the rescue I was immediately moved to my new home!!! I am getting medication for the pain, WOW does that help!!

Please let my story teach people that if you can not afford to properly take care of a dog DO NOT get a dog!! I deserved better then this, I deserved to have a loving caring home, one that would get me the medical care I deserved and needed!! Heck my owner did not even care enough about me to treat me for the million fleas I had. I had so many fleas that when I got a bath my coat turned red from the blood the fleas were sucking out of me!! That was NOT how I deserved to be treated!! I am a Great Dane and I deserved to be treated with love and compassion! Not like yesterdays garbage!!! Just because you think you want a dog do NOT get a dog unless you can afford to care for one their entire life!

Now when it is too late I have found people that love and care about me!! I may not be adoptable but I am being loved and cared for properly and I will live out the remainder of my life with people that love me!!

Thank you Harlequin Haven Volunteer (Don) for transporting me the rescue! Thank you Dr. Schrader for being so loving and gentle when you examined me. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for taking me into your home and loving me as if I had been here all my life!

Please if you can spare a few dollars to help the Rescue to help me it would be greatly appreciated.  My medicine is not cheap but it makes my life much better and I want to enjoy every day I have left! Hugs and Slobbers Pam
