I was found roaming the rural roads of Darke County and was taken to the county animal shelter. When my owners never came for me the wonderful people at the shelter called HHGDR to come for me. I arrived at the rescue the very next day in time for dinner!

As you will see from my pictures I have not had an easy life. I have lived outside on hard surfaces causing my body to have many pressure sores. I was not being fed properly and am emaciated, I also am heartworm positive. Grandma here at the rescue said that I need to gain a few pounds before being treated for the heartworms.

Update May 24: I received the first part of my heartworm treatment this week and have felt pretty rough the past few days but just as Grandma said each day gets a bit better! In a month I will have the 2nd part of my treatment.
Update August 10: I continue to receive my heartworm treatment but the last recheck showed I am still heartworm positive. I may have to start all over with my treatment. They have decided to wait one more month and test me again before deciding which direction to take.

Update November 9: I am NOW heartworm negative and ready to find my forever home!! I am a very sweet boy but VERY demanding when I want attention!  Although I love everyone and as well as other dogs I would prefer to be an only child or maybe a sister, I feel I deserve to be spoiled after all I have been through!!!!

Please can you spare a few dollars to help the Rescue continue to help me and other Dogs like me it would be greatly  appreciated. Without the rescue who knows where we would have ended up!!
