Harlequin Haven Great Dane Rescue

Bruce

My owner was moving and asked a friend to take care of me for a short period of time but when her friend saw me she told her she could not have me back. I was/am skin and bones!! So after a month the friend decided she could no longer keep me because I was costing to much to feed.

I have been an outside dog all my life and have never enjoyed the comforts of being a house dog till I arrived here at the rescue! I have had little to no medical care which is not hard to believe considering the lack of other care I have received!! So needless to say I am heartworm positive and will have to be treated before I can look for a forever home! Plus I will have to gain 30 plus pounds!

Update February 23: I have had my first round of heartworm treatment and still feel pretty rough but each day gets better!  I am gaining weight also so things are looking up! Next month I begin round 2 of my treatment!

Update April 23: I have been retested for heartworm and am negative!! I am so happy!! I am NOW ready for adoption!!!

Please can you spare a few dollars to help the Rescue continue to help me and other Danes like me it would be greatly  appreciated. Without the rescue who knows where I would have ended up!!
Thanks, Bruce
